Peter’s Ice Cream Shop has everything you are looking for: a hometown atmosphere, passionate owners, and delicious 100% handmade ice cream. The owners, Stefan and Marika, haven't always been in the ice cream business. They both started their career as managers of major companies in Germany, but that was not their passion. Stefan continually imagined himself having his own ice cream shop in Southwest Florida. Next to all the bad things that were caused by Covid, Stefan and Marika saw their opportunity to make their dreams come true. They sold everything they had in Germany and are now starting their new lives here in downtown Fort Myers, running an ice cream shop.

The former business, Java House, was established in 2015. Stefan and Marika bought the small comfortable space in the heart of Fort Myers in August 2021. After renovation, the shop was reopened in September under the name Peter’s Ice Cream & Coffee Shop. The name honors friends who have a famous Ice Cream Shop in Germany and shared their 43 years of experience.

A lot of the famous Java house coffee products are still on the menu, but the newest addition is the handmade ice cream. Stefan is making specialties such as Red Bull flavored ice cream or sweet cream, alongside traditional ice cream flavors like chocolate and vanilla directly in the kitchen. He is using all natural ingredients with no artificial flavors. Additionally, Peter’s Ice Cream & Coffee Shop offers a lot of freshly baked cakes such as apple and strawberry cake or black forest cake. Savory breakfast and lunch specialties are also offered. It's important for the owners to always provide the customers with fresh, healthy, and natural products.

One highlight of Peter’s Ice Cream & Coffee Shop is the dog ice cream. The dog ice cream is developed in cooperation with a veterinarian, and is a perfect treat for all dogs. It contains all natural products without sugar. For birthday parties or as a gift for family or friends, you can buy a decorated ice cream bomb.
